The 360 Degree Judicial Management System will allow all departments on and off campus to serve the needs of administrators, facility managers, student services, public safety and residence life from a single point of reference for all student infractions.
Complying with FERPA and Sex Offender Act regulations, 360 Degree JMS provides the ability for departments to share information regarding student incidents. The end result is a system that eliminates the possibility that a student who has several similar violations will be view as an isolated incident within that department.
Take the following scenario: A student comes into class and appears to be intoxicated. The professor sends the student home and creates and incident report in the 360 Degree JMS. When the incident report is registered in the system and the following departments are notified:
- Academic Affairs
- Residence Life
- Judicial Officer
- Dean of Students
When each department reviews the report they can see that the student has previously had a similar violation in their residence hall as well as an off-campus violation that was handled by the public safety office. Now everyone knows this is not an isolated incident and departments can work together to handle this violation appropriately and, more importantly, the institution can provide a positive along with the sanction.
